PRIVATE RESIDENCE

This project involves the complete renovation of a residential building in Chania originally designed by Dimitris and Souzana Antonakaki, key figures of the Greek modern architectural movement. The building reflects the principles of the Greek modernist school through clear geometric volumes, balanced proportions, and a strong relationship with light and the Mediterranean landscape. The intervention followed a strategy of respectful transformation, preserving the architectural identity of the building while adapting the interior spaces to contemporary living. The renovation included a reconfiguration of the internal layout to improve circulation and functionality, while existing structural elements and the characteristic stone cladding were carefully restored to maintain the building’s material identity and connection to the local context.
